type of fencing add ons? or collar? to stop cats getting OUT of the garden!?

i keep reading about different fencing, the garden i am going to (got the keys its mine! ) is around 40ft long (double the size i remember!) and about 20ft wide-ish? i want the cat to go out, i mean if its a hot day and have my patio doors open hell get out anyway and im not shuting him in another room!

BUT is there anyway to stop them getting over the fence? i read about this collar with a invisable fence? and some other fencing? i cant replace the fencing (too much expense right now) but anything i can put on it? (not a eye-sore though!)

i dont mind if he does wander a little its a very nice small area culd-de-sac with other cats hanging out, no road near by for a long long time very quiet BUT id rather keep him where i can see him! And espically if i get the NFC or Bengal i dont them them wandering out of the garden! no way!

dont want a cat house too enclosed when there is nice patio & grass to play on!

ANY IDEAS ANYONE??????????????

ive just found these:

There is also

http://www.purrfectfence.co.uk/

Charlie and Candyshandy have their gardens cat proofed, so they may be able to help you better with this one.

On a cheap solutions note though, I have read about, cannt remember where, but some one had used plastic pipes on poles, length ways so that they roll. This meant that the cat couldnt get a grip to climb. Does that make sense, sorry just woke up

I have the SecurACat system and it really is great. I also installed it myself so all you need to pay for is the materials.

There isn't a website but there are some piccies on here:

http://www.woodycoon.com/html/cat-proof_fencing.html

You can email Roz on securacat@aol.com and she will let you know about cost etc.

Here's a piccie of my recent bridge baby Fabes sussing out the system when I first put it up!

I wouldnt have thought the landlord/lady would mind that much, they are not a permanent fixture and can be removed should you leave the property. Why not run it past her and find out.
I dont like the look of the spikes tbh.

Its very easy to do. make or buy some L shaped brackets and space them about 6ft apart around the garden fence top. Then fix mesh to the top forming an overhang, mine is about 12 inches wide. Cats can jump up but cant get over as they meet the overhang. Mine actually havent tried to get out, but this has stopped the others too, so i know it works.
