I heard your last breath, and your tired heart,
that which gave you grief.

I wanted you to see, that my act was out of love,
while I felt your fear blinding you.

So with your view lost, I had to kiss you goodbye,
while hoping you felt me on your side.

And I cried you away,
while I closed your eyes,
cuddling you to the end.

And I feel for all that I did not do,
and regret what else, I could have done,
time I allowed to go, not being next to you.

I am sorry for all,
and you are welcome too,
for the little or much,
that I gave you at the time.

That has got to be one of the most moving poems I have heard, it has got me in tears thinking of my Charkie who I lost last June

, he died in my arms while I was cuddling him and kissing him goodbye

.
I hope you don`t mind but I have printed that poem off and I am going to put it in his photo album with all his other pics

Please do put the poem in Charkie's album (bless him) I wanted to share it with everyone who may have felt the same pain due to the loss of their pet, and under similar circumstances. When your friend goes you still feel guilty over things, and sorrow invades you, you wish could have done better, but we have also done plenty We must forgive ourselves because we loved them as good as we knew and/or as much as we could. Writing about it helped me to let go of some pain, and hope I have helped you and others too, as you never forget.

It`s so true even now I feel like there could have been more I could have done for him and feel guilty

, but deep down I know that I did everything possible for him.
The main thing is he had a happy life and he knew that I loved

him dearly and always will.
