I have to share this news with you.
Yesterday we went to Blackpool Dog show just to watch and meet up with Basenji people. We met up with Malaika's breeder and discovered that one of Malaika's sisters had been returned.
We went to see her and fell in love, to cut a long story short we have said we would like to have her. It has always been our intention to have two and our plan was to get a male puppy next year, not to breed , our plans are to have Malaika spayed when she is mature.
We have been given a week to think, not that we need it
and will contact the breeder at the weekend. We will then take her on a trial basis to see if the two girls get on, there can be problems with same sex Basenjis but we feel quite confident the two will be ok. The understanding is that we will return her to the breeder if it fails.
She is a lovely little girl and i hope so much it works.
She was the smallest pup in the litter and we very nearly picked her, it's strange how things work out.
