Thanks everyone, this is Kindly, my Japanese chin. Her tongue sticks out almost permanently as she has only one canine tooth, all the others had to be removed.
I'm sure she and the kitten will sleep together, she's a very cat like dog-loves to sleep on the back of the sofa in the sunspots!

I'd not heard of this breed, so looked it up. Here's a link in case anyone else doesn't know about it also...very interesting!
