Not sure how "sensible" this is but I have to say local children. Oscar nor Cleo in their youth could travel far from the boundaries of the garden - without the local children coming and telling me "Oscar is in Road B" or "Oscar is in so and so's garden" when Oscar was in his prime he was hardly ever in so the door was constantly being knocked. I never discouraged them as I figured the children watching out for the cats was the best defence against anyone being unkind to them as the children would soon tell me. But never had that although they would tell me "Oscar beat the black cat up" or "So and So's dog barked at Oscar" etc etc etc. |

These are all great suggestions and we should def. have a 'what to do if you lose your cat' as one of the articles, when we have articles. Mags & Smudgley's will make a great start and Kazz is right about kids ..... it was local youngsters who found Mini when she had her '3 nights up a tree' incident! |

Good posts. When Misty went missing I did posters for local shops and hand delivered over 200 leaflets with her photo and a description with home and mobile numbers. Within a couple of hours of delivering leaflets I had several calls and found her stuck in garden about 15 houses down the road. She had got in, but couldnt get back out due to having no claws left as she had worn them out so couldnt climb back up the fence. LEAFLETS WORK. |
