A Cat...

and a mouse on TV.

was watching A is for Acid, last night on ITV3, when they showed a little mousey scuttling along, beside the skirting board. i had my cat on my lap, and she saw this little mouse, and watched it, but the camera moved off the mouse, and my cat jumped off my lap to investigate behind the telly. i called her, and she came back, but then started sniffing and nosing the unit, then she put her front paws on the unit and sniffed the corner of the telly, thinking the mousey was there!

unfortunately, i didn't have my mobile on me, so i couldn't take a picture, but i found the whole thing to be really funny. she's usually such a sedate girl, but she does have her funny moments!

copied and psted this from another site, cos i can't be bothered to re-write it, and it's genuinely mine and Flossie's!

Re: A Cat...

Look into the eyes of a cat and then ask yourself this question. Do those eyes reveal the soul of a sentient being, or are they just the beautiful pools of a creature you share your home with? Do you think you will meet your cat in the hereafter?
Some experts state emphatically that cats are independent, aloof, and only come around humans to satisfy their physical needs.
It is my feeling that cats are simply more selective in their choice of human companions than are dogs.
While I have my own thoughts and opinions about this claim, I'm more interested in seeing what my readers believe. You may post your opinions and experiences.

Re: A Cat...

Stitch, loved that story! I've only had one cat out of the seven I've had over the years who paid any attention to anything on TV. My Siamese used to sit on the armchair with my Dad who was watching baseball, and occasionally he'd go to the TV and nose around and behind it looking for the ball he'd just seen thrown!

Re: A Cat...

some cats do watch the telly. some don't, and Flossie's one who dosen't. not normally, anyway. i doubt if i put my tom and jerry video on, she'd watch it.

would your Siamese have done the same if had been a mouse and not a ball? i think he would have

cats are funny creatures. so sedate, yet so amusing when chasing something, especially if it's on tv!

Re: A Cat...

I've no idea; when I had him we didn't have any mice! He was indoors only, did walk on a harness, but had never seen a mouse as far as I know; probably instinct would have taken over .......My others completely ignored the TV and computer screen.

Re: A Cat...

i once had a white cat i called Angel, and she once followed me, or at least tried to follow me, to the shop! she didn't need a harness, but i think if i'd had one, she'd have let me put it on her! daft cat. i never saw her chase a mouse, but i used to find decapitated voles outside my back door!

Flossie ignores the tv, too, unless something grabs her attention, like a two second shot of a mouse!
