Have a lovely day Jac!! It's pouring here too

AT home today, but will probably go up the pub by the office at lunchtime (with kids and au pair too), to buy the work guys lunch and a drink coz everyone's worked like stink this month. The result is we turned over in excess of £100K in June which I'm delighted about as it will hopefully help with all the stuff that's been causing major stress levels.

I just hope the pub will let the nippers in, as it's not really the weather for sitting out in their garden

Re: Daily Thread/Friday

Yola that's a god point and one that really gets me. You can take kids to most places about here but there is one that has special seating for kids. I mean tables that you can sit with them. The rest of the place is out of bounds. But its all open planned. I asked about it and was told the seats at the windows aren't licensed for kids . I challenged that and was told they have a license for kids but not for at the windows . Yeh right. I was going to "get into it" but my Mum was getting embarrassed.

I hope the kids are allowed in and you have a lovely lunch.

Re: Daily Thread/Friday

It started fine here but the heavens have just opened - glad I got to town and did my bits early. It was very quiet, so i think everyone must have doubted how the day would turn out.
Yola! - way to go girl! Hope the stresses continue to ease. Life was way different way back then but I feel blessed that I had '6 years off' with the kids. Not exactly off, I did 3 nights a week bar work from when my second was eighteeen months, and not exactly off, because looking after 2 children with an eighteen month age gap is hardly a walk in the park but ....... lots of good things about it too.
Kids in bars/restaurants? Lovely as long as they are well behaved kids. Suppose I am harking back to a golden age with rose coloured reverse vision specs again but really - the behaviour of some mean that everyone gets penalised by all kids being barred. Why those who just drink/eat and don't care and let their kids go feral aren't challenged by the managements I don't know.
Sorry - will snap out of Mrs Meldrew mode now!

Afternoon everyone!

No rain this morning, overcast and warm.....

Nothing special planned today........had a natter on the phone with a friend, a package arrived from her while we were talking, she kindly sent me some plants which I will put in this afternoon......as long as it doesn't rain..

I hope someone somewhere has a glimpse of sunshine today!

Re: Daily Thread/Friday

Well, we do, Mags: first full day of Summer and a beautiful one. Sorry the weather seems to be so dank and dreary where so many of you are. Re dining with kids: I agree wholeheartedly with DM that a few irresponsible parents wit rowdy ones can ruin things for everyone whose children are mannerly and well-behaved! That is so maddening trying to enjoy a meal with friends and little hooligans cause a disturbance...end of rant!! Yola: hope your meal went well. I've been to the market; nothing much planned. Am annoyed as my vacuum cleaner broke down last evening! The handle thing broke! Have a nice afternoon, all, stay dry!
