No miaow

I have noticed in the last day or 2 that Benny has lost his miaow! He has always been quite vociferous, esp at dinner time! Am going to take him to vet tomorrow to get him checked out. Should I be worried? Has anyone else noticed this about their cat?

Re: No miaow

Have you noticed anything else odd... is he eating/toileting normally, acting otherwise as usual? How old is he? It may be nothing to worry about, but always wise to trust your instinct, you know your cat better than anyone else. Then again, maybe he just has nothing to say!

Seriously, the vet is a good idea.

Nowt else odd. He is still eating (like a horse!). He is a bit lazier than normal (if thats possible for a cat!!). He does usually like to be heard, theres no ignoring him when he starts! I will try and get him in tomorrow and get him a quick once over.

Do hope Benny is OK Netty. Can you remind me how old Benny is? Pip used to be very vocal, but as he has got older he goes for the silent miaow more now! Or a little "quack".!!!

Leia also rarely has anything to say as she's gotten to be a senior cat ... she specializes in the silent miaow.

Re: No miaow

I think hes only about 4/5 years old. I have noticed this morning his voice seems to be coming back. I asked him if he wanted sweets and he suddenly found his voice again!!
