Thursday daily

Another miserable morning. We seem to have days that start wet and dull but improve to pretty reasonable by early evening. Ho hum. So much for the forecast record-breaking summer
Another early start here as OH caught the train to London. I don't think he'll be back much before bedtime either. Never mind, it pays the bills and keeps him out of mischief.
Bentley is engaged in warfare with a ginger newcomer (it's the pale ginger cat who first appeared when Chester was missing). Bentley has a small wound on his head that's a couple of days old and there were screams and shrieks at 7am and I looked out of the window to see the ginger being quite aggressive to Bents. I called my boy in and he was HUGE and pretty upset. Shame. I'd much rather they got on. However, it's Bentley's garden and we can't put up with behaviour like that from an interloper. Dinah will have to teach it some manners.

Re: Thursday daily

An OH that's away 'til bedtime? Sounds like a dream come true. I'm with mind 24/7 and it gets a bit much at times! Sorry Bentley got bashed H . . . he needs some assertiveness training by the sound of things

It's Ok here, weather-wise. Overcast but warm. I have the usual mound of stuff to get through at the office but I'm feeling really fuzzy-headed and detached (and have been for a few days) so it's really a struggle to remain focused.

I'm kind of counting down to the 8th which is when we go on holiday, with some trepidation as I'm not much of a traveller (hate flying) and will worry massively about the cats and the house. OH will worry about the business and TBH, I forsee much arguments as seems to be the norm when we're on holiday

Re: Thursday daily

I'm working at home again as I was asked not to go in the office for a week because my daughter had swine flu, but I am now very bored of my own company & can't wait to get back to normality. I love my usual one day a week at home but couldn't do it all the time.

Kids are better now & back at school.

Weather is good here.

I have to take Lucy to get a dress after school for her mini prom this evening

Think that's all the excitement happening here

They come in useful for that don't they....call out the troops....I miss that...Oz was capable of seeing off any cat in the area/road/city I think in his day but as he got older the newcomers werem't so easy to convince and as his sister was a born pacifist.. ...the dogs came in very useful to defend the home turf in his absence. Doesn't Chester get involved in defending home...or is it left to Bentley?

Anyhow I digress, overcast this morning...AND I AM GOING INTO THE GARDEN....
Not doing much else, BT is checking where my "credit" has gone. should hear by tomorrow.
Need to buy a DVD recorder.....to record straight from the TV...got to sort that out.
Friend has got us tickets for "We will rock you" the Queen show at the hippodrome for a week tomorrow night. Looking forward to that.

Yola thats how I feel at the moment detatched...good description.

Simon a friend of mine has been taken to hospital and had surgery...he' had a heart attack hes 31....with a young
daughter of 3. waiting to hear how he is, had the op Monday night. He's still in ICU, last I heard from his wife.

Have a good day all I am off to the garden ...oh yes I am.

Re: Thursday daily

It's a glowery hot day with occasional showers of big ploppy drops! I have just finished washing the car. I came out of the physio gym yesterday evening and as I approached my car in the car park, I felt so ashamed. I had mould growing on my bonnet!!! and moss around the windows. It probably won't pass inspection, but at least it looks clean. There is a European country where you can be fined for having a dirty car. Not sure which one it is .... I could never live there!!!

During the quiz yesterday evening I said to American DM and CM that Kizzy had seemed a bit "off" yesterday - a lot of sleeping and a bit of bad breath. Probably a bit of vole-itis from the night before. Just to say she is full of beans this morning and moving around normally.

OH is being a pain. Like Yola, I am with him 24/7 more or less and I don't think it's a good thing. Being hopeful, I put it down to the trouble he is having with his golf swing - yes, I do think he could be that petty. Of course, he won't say why he bites my head off and is so intolerant atm. So I am saying to myself he's got swingeyvitis. Nothing to do with Swine Flu. Glad your kids are better now Smudgley.

I have some emergency transcription to do this afternoon after I have got MIL's lunch (it's her 88th Birthday today!). She's fast asleep just now. Couldn't believe how off OH was with her this morning. I'd picked her some roses and lavender and made a bit of an effort for the breakfast table - he didn't even deign to join us.

Ah well ......... at least Kizzy gives me cuddles!

Have a good day everyone - keep busy, keep focussed (or try) and those that can, have a good drink to toast an 88th Birthday this evening.

Re: Thursday daily

Good afternoon! It's a muggy old day here, very overcast and when it does rain, boy, it pours! and there's more to come.

Home on a day off today but doing the cleaning chores. Having a night out tonight with friends, so that's some thing to look forward to

Posh's wiremesh door is complete much to her chagrin. Ceri made a temporary 5 foot one with a gap at the top.She scanned it, sussed it, and popped over the top, no problem, this one fits the whole frame ... no escape now for Mrs Houdini

Yola take a good book on holiday and couple of earplugs, Get Dinah out on patrol DM, chase off johnny foreigner to his own backyard Sorry about your friend Kazz, thats scarily young for a heart attack Chillax janey, its good for you, and give your MIL my congrats Angie, 88 is a very good age ( and very lucky if ya Chinese )
