A year has almost past

It will be one year on April 4th since I let Winston go free from the misery of CRF and old age.
I think about him every day but have been thinking about him a bit more of late. I still break down sometimes when I talk about him but I am at peace with myself for letting him go.
Just thought I'd post a picture of him in his prime when he trully was a handsome lad.
I will always have a place in my heart for him and will never forget him.

Yes the year has past very fast indeed. He would have been 22 this year. Makes me even more proud to think that others thought so highly of him too. He was brave and loving and I am happy that we shared so many years together.
Thanx Fran xxx

Winston was a very handsome and a very special cat. It's hard to let them go, but it's the last, best gift you can give them.....RIP, Winston.

Re: A year has almost past

Now Elaine I find your post very odd - I was in my kitchen about and hour ago and I turned and looked at my fridge magnet of Winston and thought "its been a year now" thats about when you were posting this. How odd I wasn't on line or anything.

Its been a year, and I am pleased you are at peace with your descision. You let him go when he needed to go, no one could love him more but you showed your love by letting him go.

He went as he lived reassured by your presence and comforted by your voice. What more could a cat want? Winston deserved the best and in you he found it.

Take care Karen

What a sad anniversary approaching Elaine. As has been said, we all felt we knew him a little bit and we all felt the dreadful pain and loss you were experiencing at the time.

I'm pleased that you're able to now look back objectively and really see how you did the best possible thing for your beautiful boy.

Sleep tight Winston.

Obviously I wasn't here when Winston passed Elaine, but from your tales of him he was obviously a special boy, and well loved. He had a lovely strong face, and I would say had a very strong character too. ((hugs)) to you for what will be a hard few weeks!
