The Ponte is a hybrid of the Light Sussex and A Rhode Island, I believe Angie. Both a escape artists I've discovered. Er, my singing would be enough to scramble the egg inside its shell Angie No I think I can spare them the ordeal. I think the R.I. strain is well diluted, it's just the propensity to lay that is carried in that gene. They are much more mature now, their combs and cheek patches are bright pink and soon they will be laying eggs. They won't be as brown as Maggie's as she has maran strain in her. |
