Bank Holiday Monday Thread

No one else up??????????????

Well I am and its overcast today but am sure the sun will break through later in the day.

Am just pottering about the house today with the kids. Tidying up etc. If Sean wakes up whilst there is still daylight I might take a trip to the shops to start looking for bits for the return to school.

Other than that its just another day as I am off work now until the 5th September with the kids!

Just noticed I am the ONLY ONE online. Spooky!!!

Re: Bank Holiday Monday Thread

It is odd when you realise you are the only one on, isn't it Donna?
I'm up - have been snce about 7am, so that counts as a small lie-in. Didn't sleep well as I got bitten to bits at the allotment yesterday and am just itching all over. Have taken an anti-histamine and rubbed a/h cream on, so now relaxing with the PC in the hope that my brain will forget about it and let the inflammation calm down.
No plans for today - the forecast is not good. The roads will be getting clogged in readiness for The Great Dorset Steam Fair http://www.steam-fair.co.uk/ so we locals will batten down the hatches for a week.
Schools go back next week eh? Doesn't time fly?
Hope everyone has a lovely day, especially those who are having the additional day off (is it a public holiday across the pond too? I've a feling it's Labour Day in Canada but I may be way off )

Re: Bank Holiday Monday Thread

Today I was woken by Fifi in our bedroom at 5am (rare occurance and only the boys usually occupy the bedroom with us) and she was scratching on one of the chairs. Needless to say the food bowls were empty, so replenished these but couldn't get back to sleep It was raining hard and it's still quite wet outside, but brighter now.

Today hopefully we'll drive over to Guildford to a wonderful children's shop to get Domi some school shoes. I despair of the usual crop of clod-hopping, pastie-shaped kids' shoes so hopefully will be able to find something robust AND good looking there. They also have a great baby department, and as I need a cot mobile and a (cheapish) bouncy seat hopefully we'll score on all the above!!

Then it's over to west London to pick my Mum up - she's coming to stay for several days as Domi will be at home with me (and her) all this coming week. He doesn't return to school until the 5th!!

Have a lovely day off to all that are not working - hope the weather holds out fine for you

Re: Bank Holiday Monday Thread

It is lovely and sunny here in Dorset!.......Dont mean to rub it in!
Have had a lovely long walk with the doggies this morning, have bathed 2 of them and therefore had to clean the bathroom.
Am now lazing around and grooming and snipping the dogs whilst I am at it!
The cats are both snoozing on my (as yet) unmade bed!

No, it's just another working day on this side of the pond: next Monday is Labor Day, however, a legal holiday.
