Cats & associationsDoes your cat make associations with anything? an example for me is when my alarm clock goes off Mika knows its time for me to get up and will wait at the bedroom door for me meowing her little head off until the door gets opened! And then wants a fuss from me and feeding.  What assoications does your cat(s) make?

Twelve o'clock is lunch time! When I switch the TV on for the noon news and go to the kitchen to fix my lunch she appears by her plate, knowing it'll be filled! I always feed her first. The same at dinner. And she, and I suspect almost every cat, associates the carrier with a trip to the vet!! |

I've just recently started to notice that Cloud doesn't eat her breakfast/tea when I feed her any more unless I happen to have my own meal ready at the same time... If I happen to go out the door without breakfast, she'll eat it as I get ready to leave and close her in, but otherwise she'll eat it only when she sees me coming through with my own food. I think this is because when she was younger I would try to keep her from being interested in my food by feeding her just as I was hoping to eat myself (now I'm trying to feed her at 8am and 6pm). And I would avoid her trying to dive out the door with me by giving her some breakfast as I was about to leave. |

If I open a tin Tiger assumes it will be tuna and dashes down the stairs and if I make an oooohh sound he comes running for a treat and when I put the kettle on he hangs out in the kitchen knowing I will open the fridge for the milk |

Harris and Skye associate our phone alarms going off in the morning they jump up on us and wake us up!!!! They also associate the rattle of the treat tub with getting treats |

Pip definitely associates the rustle of the Dreamies packet with something nice ............ for HIM! Always comes running! Little monkey even tried to open the packet himself. |

cass loves "dreamies" i used to use them as a way of getting her used to me touching her,now she knows she gets them when i make my first coffee of the day  |
