I just adore traction engines!! Sometimes when Carters steam fair comes to town they rumble past our house and you can hear them coming a mile away . . . when there's a whole lot of them it feels like an earthquake!! DM - that looks like a fantastic day out, glad the weather held and the cider tasted good |

Yola - you'll have to visit the fair next year. It's huge; there's easily enough to keep you occupied for 2 days. I'm sure Dominik would love it and there are probably fire engines somewhere - I didn't notice any but there were old buses and lorries and tanks and motorbikes and and and .... People take their holidays and camp for the week! It really must be enthusiasts' heaven. |

I think a weekend in Dorset mooching round looking at large lumps of machinery and bit horses sounds excellent . . . I'll pass on the caravan and opt for a B n B though |

Book early - people will be booking for 2008 as soon as they get home today! This is newly renovated and very close to the fair site. Don't know what the accommodation is like - food is good. http://www.trueloversknot.co.uk/ |

I have no idea what any of those machines were, but it looked like lovely weather and a very fun way to pass the day! I'd've likes the cider....... |
