He's going to be a Daddy!

The cardinal has been hanging around my house quite a bit lately; finally know why! Mrs Cardinal is nesting in my neighbor's upright yew. She's well hidden in the foliage, cannot get a pic of her without getting too close and don't want to scare her. The nest is only about 12 - 15 feet from my steps. Baby cardinals, isn't that cool?

Pic not too good as it was taken thru the porch screen.

How amazing Eileen. Please keep us up to date with the hatching. I have fingers crossed it all goes well for Mr and Mrs Cardinal.

Re: He's going to be a Daddy!

I had to Google the incubation period - 12 -13 days. Chris noticed the nest two days ago, so no idea how long she's been sitting. I'll post when there's any news.

Wow what a striking bird and so neat for you to watch. I think I found a mother bird feeding her young yesterday though it was too far for me to see the young but she sure was acting like that was what she was doing in our tree
