Re: Walk the walk for breast cancer - my 26.3 mile marathon

Thanks everybody, Yes I was very proud of myself, I really enjoyed the whole event, really empowering. There was 9070 women doing the walk and 30 men. Definately do another one but perhaps the London one as Edingburgh was a bit hilly!!!! lol Scenery was lovely though, especially walking along the Firth of Forth at sunrise

Re: Walk the walk for breast cancer - my 26.3 mile marathon

Just wanted to say well done!
Is this one similar to the one they do in London Emma? A good friend is undergoing chemo for breast cancer at the moment and wants to do the London one next year, I'm toying with the idea of doing it with her??? Mind you, Edinburgh sounds more appealing!

Re: Walk the walk for breast cancer - my 26.3 mile marathon

Hi Ramble,

Yes this is the same one as the event in London, only in Edinburgh. With both events you can also do the half marathon if you don't fancy doing the full 26.3 miles.

If you do the Moonwalk Ramble I am sure you will love it, great atmosphere, very well organised with marshalls chearing you on, as well as the general public who were totally fanastic.

I would recommend to anybody wanting to do the full moonwalk to do some training and do a walk that lasted for 20 miles, mentally that really helped me.

Yes Jac, that was what the very large pink tent was

I would also like to thank everybody from Catsey who donated to me, it really does mean a lot. xxx

Thanks Emma, it sounds great, really good fun and for such a fantastic cause. I am really tempted to do it with her (all being well with her treatment of course). Good excuse to do some longer walks as well. Will you be doing it again?

I am hoping to do the London one next year, apparently it is a bit easier as the course is flatter, and it would be more convient as I live in Essex.

And have you thought any more about doing an international charity walk/trek/cycle Emma?
