A day on, and I'm feeling right in my decision. He appears to be much brighter, and has managed to eat. He's still on a drip, and they're keeping an eye on his glucose levels, but certainly, he's only gotten better since yesterday. The vet mentioned this morning that he was grinding his teeth whilst he ate, and this was maybe a sign of some stomach pain, but there was no mention this evening. I've to phone back in the morning, and all being well, hopefully we'll get him home later in the day. Thank you all so much for replying to me! My head was a mess, and it was great to hear from people who understood where I was coming from. List of questions being prepared - i'm most concerned about any stomach issues, but I can't wait to see his fuzzy little face again! This house is too empty, and I need to rub his belly asap! Thanks again. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have an even better update. He's a fighter! |

Fantastic advice as always; I'm delighted to read that Oban is starting to pick up. I do hope he's soon back home with you. When he's back to his old self again it might be worth getting some further (hopefully non-invasive) investigations carried out to see if there are any underlying issues. Best to do this when Oban's feeling brighter than waiting until a possible recurrance of the illness. Oh, and when you finally get him back home we'd love to see a picture of this fine kitty who has been causing you all this worry. |

Thanks again. Yola, thats my thoughts exactly, the way the vet was speaking suggested that there was, and I really don't want to have to go through this again! It's not fair on Oban, so hopefully we can get to the bottom of things. Got to phone once I get to work so no update, but I'll attempt to show off some photos! hope it works! http://s985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/audweb/oban/ Oh and teeth grinding was a new one to me too! I've never heard of cats doing it, and I've never heard Oban do it either! She did say his teeth seem alright (Not great as he's 11), but certainly dental pain doesn't seem to be the reason. Weird eh? |

Oh but he's a handsome boy!! Always nice to put a kitty face to a name; and he really suits being called Oban. |

Glad to hear that Oban is improving and hope he'll be home soon. Thanks for the photos, it is nice to picture the subject - even while he's being a worry. Healing vibes coming his way. |
