I guess it's because they like the subject matter. Must admit that it awakened yearnings in me - I love the Lake District!

I can understand if it is relevant, but not a holiday info request from 2 years ago!

Trouble is, I don't tend to look at the date, I just click on the 'new posts' tab.

Yeap thats weird.....I never look I just reply then wait for someone to point it out to me that I am in fact replying to a 100 year old post

Kazz, I suppose it's because I have to add 5 hours to the time of the post to see what time it was posted in the UK, and subtract for the US members ... it's just become automatic for me. This post should show up as 1:46 am on your screen!

Just 1 minute out Eileen - the time for the post to bounce off a few satellites perhaps?

But that is an excellent reason for you to always look at the time/date!
