Re: Sunny Saturday

Lovely sunny weather here today, been at work this morning then earlier went to visit a cattery for Imogen while we're away. It's a lovely place but I'm feeling a bit guilty about her having to go there just so we can have a holiday I really don't want her to be distressed. The good thing is that her breeder (one of our vets) lives almost next door and will visit her during the week.
I've been measuring up our outside space today as I want to start doing some growing in pots and am getting some wooden troughs made. Not a clue what I'm going to plant though! Will head to the library for some reference books

Re: Sunny Saturday

Hiya all

Good day here, sun shinning in between the clouds...but a nice day.
Been out today..... if you guessed the garden you were right

Planted up the other two 18" baskets and the two big terracota tubs (they have had pinks in them and being not far off hip height I hope the scent will be more noticable.

Just the wall baskets in the front to do now.

Took Sal out did about 4 miles on the road/pavement no free running....

Have a nice afternoon all.

Karen

Lots of gardeners here, PL, if you'd like any suggestions, What sort of exposure do you have, sun, shade, a mixture? And what sort of plants do you like?

Re: Sunny Saturday

Had a lovely day, lovely weather so a bit of gardening, watched by shy Molly Cat who has been enticed outside by the sun. OH has been getting his pictures ready for a local art and craft exhibition and I've been training our boisterous spaniel with a bit of retrieval work, he was really good for a first attempt, dropped his treasure right at my feet in return for a tiny taste of liverbread! Good boy!

There's always a "but" though, isn't there? I've broken a tooth, luckily there's no pain, it's a heavily filled molar and the wall has just cracked away leaving the filling. It'll have to wait until after the Bank Holiday, then I suppose I'll need another crown, I'm losing count of how many crowns I've got now, more expense!

Have a nice evening folks.

Sorry to hear about the tooth, MrsH! But bravo for Morgan, sounds as if he's coming along well.

Thanks DM, I'll try and get some photos of the patch I'm hoping to use. I'd like to grow some veggies as well as some pretty flowers All advice gratefully received.

If ground space is limited you can grow lots of veggies in pots...tomatoes, both standard and cherry, peppers, varieties of salad greens; herbs do well also...basil, thyme, maybe some catnip for Imogen. A bit late to start from seed but you can probably find them at the garden centre. Summer bulbs are nice: glads, crocosmia, cannas (dwarf), caladiums for a shady spot. Do you like flowers for looking at or for cutting for indoors?
