Re: Sad news, good news and EEEEKKK!

where do i get lactol from? I just got clinicat, the vet rang another clinic where there is a woman who has hand reared lots of bunnies, and thats what she said to use. AS i didnt know any different i brought it. But if there's something better then i'll use that happily.
Poor little mites, and i do feel sorry for mommy bunny too.

I can't get over there iddy biddy ears either, or tails!
I've never seen new born bunnies before.

Only this morning i had an email from a friend saying her neighbours cat was killed by a car (hit n run) leaving 6 kittens, would I be able to help if needed!
I had said yes I would take on one or two, not sure i could manage know, but IF there is nobody else then I will help them out, feed them and bunnies at same time lol.

I know it going to be hard going, but bless them, theyre tiny and so helpless, and I'm a big softy!

Re: Sad news, good news and EEEEKKK!

Oh bless 'em. I used to breed dwarf lops a few years ago - but I was quite lucky & my girls were all good moms. I never had to hand rear any. I would think it is hard to hand rear a baby bunny, but as with little puppies & kittens I would imagine, with the right care & the right amount of food & in the right environment they should be ok. Hope so.
Just a thought -- when hand rearing dogs/cats you have to stimulate them to go to the toilet as they have no control over their bladder/bowels as mommy would usually lick them to stimulate them. Do you know if the baby buns need stimulating?
