They joys of having a multi animal household....I have had similar experiences when my cat brought in a live mouse and let it go! although not as bad as your Luke!!

Glad to see you're still alive. Sounds like your folks are really good people to live with. Mind, you had done most of the cleaning up before-hand, so obviously trying to make the best of a muddy situation.
