Re: I am a daft mare!

Go to ER now! You've pushed an unknown quantity of unknown bacteria (yes, from "only a nail" Unless finger-, but I digress) deep into your foot. They are now warm and well fed - ideal conditions for growing and they can make you very, very sick in a very short time. "keeping an eye" on it won't help, you won't see anything on the surface until you have a very real problem. Look up blood poisoning (septisemia) and tetanus("Tetanus toxin: Blocks the function of certain nerve cells which leads to spastic paralysis in the host. The bacterium that produces this toxin is anaerobic & usually grows locally in a puncture wound, such as that from a nail or rose thorn, yet it readily kills full grown horses or humans"), if you want some details. Please take this seriously... It's an easy fix now, but can be quite a nasty thing if left alone.

Re: I am a daft mare!

Yes you will phone the docs my girl!!!

I stabbed myself a couple of weeks ago, I'm clever like that with a pair of scissors I had been using to trim the dog, I pushed my foot backwards when they were on the floor and pushed them into my heel. Not to worry I thought, untill the next day! OUCH! Big swollen foot and ankle, a trip to the docs revealed an infection. I had anti-biotics and some cream. The tetanus jab is fine Donna, wouldnt lie to you.
Dawn.
