It's a sort of wireless connection Mags. You can communicate with other phones, pc's and even sat nav if they are all blue tooth enabled

Re: Camera phones...anyone familiar with them?

I haven't even been in touch with Cingular, my wireless carrier yet so have no idea what phone I'd be getting; wireless sounds sort of complicated..If it comes with a cable, I think I could manage that. Want to be sure I can still keep my calling plan if I upgrade to a phone with picture capability...got a great plan, only $19.95 a month & so many hours I don't even remember what they are as I never go over!! But...how many pictures do they generally take? And am I correct in assuming that there's no flash? I know these are silly questions, but I'd like to have an idea what to expect when and if I do call Cingular. Thanks for all your posts! Especially JemBob"s offer to tralk me thru it...that was SO nice!!!

Some camera phones come with a light now - mine has a bright light and also night mode which makes nightime photos easier.

Re: Camera phones...anyone familiar with them?

Thanks, Donna, that's very helpful to know! All Leia pics would be shot indoors or on the screened porch, which is a Northern exposure. Of course, garden pics would be OK without a flash...now does anybody know how many pictures you can take until the phone is full, or if you can take & then send just one or two instead of waiting until the whatever the equivalent of film is in a phone is filled up? Sorry for all these questions!!

Thanks, Dawn! I'm keeping notes on all these things so I won't sound like too much of an idiot when I call Cingular!

Re: Camera phones...anyone familiar with them?

Dandysmom, i have just had a word with son who says "Yes you can get a phone with a flash, Sony -Ericson do one with 3.2.m. pixels", which he says would be far more that he thinks you would need!! He says there are probably other makes, but knows about the S-E because his mate has just got one. I have a Nokia mobile with camera but it is an old one but picture quality not too bad, son's Nokia is newer and better, but no flash, he uses it mainly for his work, sending quick pics back to the office, Logoes
