Re: Daily Shred ~ Friday

Well I went to work this morning and then off to London in the afternoon to meet the OH and a dear friend who we hadn't seen for a few years, have a nice lunch and then went for a bar for a few drinks, God the prices of drinks in London are shocking, vodka and coke was about £5!!!! We were taking the mickey out of the drinks menu as they had a bottle of champagne for £1,000!!!!!

Good grief! Do people actually pay money like that for DRINK? I find that really offensive that something you cant even keep could cost so much money!

Well I am sure somebody must buy drinks at that price....I certainly wouldn't, I thought £5 for a vodka and coke was bad enough!!! lol

Re: Daily Shred ~ Friday

Thats where you went wrong Emma. Vodka is obviously a premium drink at the 'champagne' bar, perhaps if you had bought the 'house' brand then it might have been cheaper, lol!

Sheer madness! I used to go out with a fiver and manage to get a good drink in me (back in my student days of course). As I dont drink nowadays, I have absolutley no idea of the price of drink now.

Re: Daily Shred ~ Friday

Well it was lucky Alex that we only bought one round of drinks (there was only three of us) and our friend bought another. Apart from that it wasn't a terribly expensive afternoon. I did a quick bit of shopping in Next (only bought a belt for less than £10 lol)

Re: Daily Shred ~ Friday

Evening, all! Indian Summer here today, 74F and brilliant sun! To the market for goodies, home to lunch, papers and crossword. Onyx wasn't in her usual spot at the end of the yard behind the bushes, but up further near the bird feeder, and this time she didn't back off when I came within 5 feet of her to put down her plate...I backed pff a bit and she started eating: it was turkey and barley today. She's getting a wee bit less skittish now when I appoach with a plate in my hand! Mild enough that the porch is open: Leia's out there birdwatching now. I may join her...back to low 50's by Monday!
