Re: Daily Thread / Monday

You should have a go Mags - it's so easy! All opticians will do a free trial, so it's not as if you'd be risking financial outlay which might be wasted. Modern lenses are like bits of jelly x cling film - you don't feel a thing. Honest!

These constant wear ones are fantastic. No looking for glasses to find the price of things in the shops, to read instructions or a map .... and very little eye-fiddling as they are in for the majority of the time

Yes - multifocal they call them.
You might find that they suit you 95% of the time but you need a pair of simple 'magnifiers' for a long session of reading if the light isn't good etc. However, i can read in bed for a few pages without aditional assistance.

Re: Daily Thread / Monday

Hi, all! Lovely sunny day here, sorry the weather seems so nasty where you are...those were some hailstones! I've worn glasses since I was six; never even considered contacts, as I don't think I could possibly put something in my eye...the discomfort from a speck or an eyelash is horrible; plus I have great trouble even putting eyedrops in. After cataract surgery I needed to use drops three times a day, and wasted a lot of them because my blink reflex is so strong! DM: hope your OH gets better soon, a "man cold" is the worst kind!

Re: Daily Thread / Monday

Afternoon all.
Well we seem to have eascaped all your horrid weather. It's cold, windy and dark although it has tryed to snow a couple of times it hasn't come to anything.
Not had the best of days . My back is playing up big time. I took Blue out for a walk and ended up in tears, II got stuck poop scooping. Derek had to come to my aid (thank goodness for mobiles)
The survey company has offered us £500 to replace the windows that are cracked is £800. Derek has said no he wants the full cost of replaceing them. Watch this space .
Sean is coming over with my Mothers day pressie a little later. That will cheer me up.
Really pleased with Hercules he's had his first mouthfull of food!
Hope everyone is warm and if you dont have to go out dont!
Alex. So pleased you got the ok for a shower. I have one of the stool thingy's. They have a slanted seet. There brilliant. Hope you dont have to wait 12 months for that

Re: Daily Thread / Monday

LOL Jac! No, I should get one of the stools in the next 2 weeks along with the bath thingy. I'm quite intrigued by that. Apparently it's an inflatable cushion that you pop in to the bath, plug in to a socket in another room, and it inflates in to a seat. You get in the bath and use a control button which deflates it to lower you into the bath, and then when you want back out, it inflates again to lift you out!! Much better than a conventional bath lift with the hydraulics, as it can be taken out when the kids and OH have their baths!
