Oh I'm well and truly hooked Eileen! I love getting my hands all dirty now lol! I tell you, when I saw my dahlia bulbs had sprouted when I came back from Scotland on monday, I was nearly jumping up and down. I was like a wee child lol! And going round garden centres now I'm like a kid in a sweetie shop!

Poor Robert is sooooooo knackered he's gone overnight fishing . Perfect peace in my house tonight, kids are in bed and he's sitting at the side of a pond somewhere, bliss!! I never thought of getting some heather when I was up the road Jac, will have to mind next time! Stripey better not be up the duff

slugs! Don't mention those evil things to me!! the trails are every where, but so is my trusty salt lol! They enjoyed my dahlias and marigolds last year, and I've already noticed that they've had a munch at my bellis'. No more, they will all have to DIE!!!!

Slugs aren't too much of a problem here, but squirrels !!! I've heard that if you spread sharp gravel or sand around the plantings, they'll avoid it...never tried. Also have you heard of the beer solution: put a saucer of stale beer out and they'll drown (awful waste of good beer...)
