Caroline, I really do think it depends on the cat's basic temperament and how well she/he has been socialized as a kitten. I know that Ragdolls are noted for this; also a breed that isn't very common and that you may never have heard of...the Singapura. I had a Singapura boy and he was the friendliest and most sociable cat of the seven I've had in my life: both moggies and purebreeds. One of the Singapura sites refers to them as "pesky people cats"! They just love people! |

I think Persians are the most laid back breed there is. So laid back they are quite thick, but very beautiful. Having said that you do get the odd Persian that is aloof but not very often. I do believe it comes down to how much interaction they have as young kittens with the breeder. |
