Re: Smudgley

My pet chicken when I was a child, Henrietta turned out to be Henry; illegal to keep chickens in the City and someone complained when he crowed; we had the police and my Mom was embarrassed! Henry was rehomed with our eggman, supposedly to live a long and happy life on the farm...but suspect it was chicken stew....

That's like my second rabbit (the first, sweet Snowball, died of myxie) a fearsome Dutch boy, who turned entirely vicious - biting and scraching, despite never being teased, hurt or badly treated. He went to 'help the butcher'

Re: Smudgley

The last lot of chickens we had, were day olds & supposed to have been sexed.... but one of the them was Colin! We had to take him to the poultry auction & sell him there. We got £1.25 for him, less the 75p commision for the auctioneer, so we came home with 50p.
