Are we talking about dangling strips of tinsel over the ends of the branches? If so, then, I used to love having icicles on our tree, it was the rest of the family that hated them! I loved the way they twinkled in a current of air! Our old spaniel used to attract them and they'd cling to her coat, she'd also end up swallowing one or two and you could see where she'd "been for business" in the garden as they twinkled in the moonlight! |

Do you mean the long gold tinselly ropes that you have draped on the tree? That's what we call garland here; icicles are long strips of silvery metal (they used to be lead foil when I was a child) or some sort of silvery looking plastic that you drape on the ends of the branches.... will see if I can dig out an old tree pic and copy it....... |

no not the garlands DM, you cant see it properly on that photo but I have little strips of red and gold tinsel type stuff that I just throw onto the tree and it falls where it likes and moves in the breeze. The tree looks like it's breathing sometimes lol! |
