Anyone know anything about Sphynx cats?

No offense, but I don't find them attractive at all. That's an odd mutation; doubt if they would have survived naturally without people breeding them...but I've heard also that they're incredibly loving "people cats"....

Charlie thanx for your help, distance is not a problem for the right cat, i'll have a look and keep it in my bookmarks for now. Probably not 'til next year but no harm in looking in advance. It's keeping me busy at least for now.

I think it would be a good idea to get yourself to a show and try and meet some of the cats and their breeders - then you can really get a feel if they are for you!!!

Also - I think they are REALLY expensive - or at least that's what the woman I was speaking to told me. She had paid something crazy for her two

I really didn't like the look of them or the thought of touching them until I met one for the first time at a show last year. I spoke to the owner and got to stroke one and just fell in love. It was so affectionate and so soft! My OH also fell in love and would have one in a minute lol.

Thanks everyone, I was aware they go for silly money but i'm only looking for pet quality, still, better get saving my pennies. I am planning on going to some shows later on in the year charlie so i'll let you know how I get on with them. Thanks again x

If you buy one of the cat magazines such as 'Your Cat' there is a breeders section at the back. I am sure any breeder would be happy to give you info. Each month the mag does a breed profile and you should be able to order the copy where the sphinx was featured.

I can't make up my mind about them, I like the feel of them, but think they are quite ugly tbh!!!

lol well shut your eyes when you pet them! I think are cute in that gremlin sort of way, like persians and pugs, does that make sense?
