Re: Sunday daily thread.

A quick update on abandoned puss in my cul-de-sac. No sign of her today and no cries heard. Yesterday the nextdoor neighbour saw the man of the house arrive in his car, and later in the evening I noticed the bedroom windows closed. I think he may have collected her, I'm praying that he did anyway, but I 've asked OH to go around and check she's not been locked in or anything else.

When they split several weeks ago, one or another came to collect their bits and bobs, the cat was never seen then. OH said maybe the cat returned home and couldn't get in and that was why it was frustrated and crying. I hope this has a happy ending. Feel awful if I accused them of neglect, but ya never know

Re: Sunday daily thread.

We were spared: the predicted ice/sleet/snow was vastly overhyped, just a tiny amount of ice on the shrubs and trees, streets fine and the sun is now shining! Glad they were wrong, the worst of it went north of us; poor New England has been clobbered. Had already shopped, so had a lie-in this morning. going to tackle wrapping again this afternoon...only got one done last night ... ...with a lot of help..

Matron, thinking of you and your family...
PP, what a sad story about the little cat, hope she was picked up by the neighbor.
MrsH, what a shame about the azalea, hope they'll replace it...
PL, knitted toys for the lucky cats...hope they love them as much as Leia does her blue mousie

The worst of the darkness is over, more daylight every day now !

Stay warm and have a lovely Sunday, all.

Re: Sunday daily thread.

Matron, thinking of you, we know how tiring and waring these times can be.
Mike's dad is still in hospital, because he took so long to decide to go for the op, he missed the slot that was allocated for him. The doctors have also found some problem with some of the measurements they were doing on him, so it is taking even longer.
We managed to get our christmas shopping done today, but to be honest I just want to forget about it, after having had quite a few poorly animals over the last few months, Mike's dad and then the flu, I don't even want to socialise.
Deli, our elderly dalmation, has slowed down a lot over the past month, she has liver problems, and Mustard, our cat with suspected toxoplasmosis, apears to have some level of visual impairment or he could even be blind. Both he and Deli are in for blood tests on xmas eve, to see how they are doing.
Sorry for being such a moan, promise to be more positive for the new year!

Re: Sunday daily thread.

morning, all. we were lucky enough to have the windstorm spare us last night. we were prepared and nothing happened. our cable did go out and internet down but that was it. hopefully i'm not speaking too soon and it will continue to be calm over here..we just got a few more inches of snow and had a horrible outing getting errands done yesterday on one of the busiest retail days of the year..grocery lines packed down the aisles and traffic everywhere though we were only getting the necessities and not christmas shopping it took us five hours to get things done..people are going nuts out there! i couldn't WAIT to get home..we took some backroads to try to get away from traffic but those weren't snowplowed so either way i was stressed! i do not like going up and down big hills that are covered in snow and ice and was gripping the sidebar the whole time like my life depended on it, LOL.
happy to be in today, OH got up early and went to take care of some loose ends and i was happy to not join him.
think i'll have a quiet day with the kids and sew and clean...and continue to watch weather reports for my trip christmas day!
have a good day all, take care.

Re: Sunday daily thread.

Glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been, and that you got out and back safely. Hope the roads will be cleared and no more snow so you can get out for Christmas!
