Sunday daily thread.

Bore da or good morning.

I'm still at work as on nights and I'm dreaming of my bed. So tired but I never sleep well in the day. Can't stay in bed too long, maybe 3 hours as need to get up for Bess to feed her and let her out as hubby will be on duty sitting with MIL and the girls are at my parents. Its day 10 now of sitting and waiting for hubby and he looks awful and I'm worried about him. He is withdrawn and low. Its been a long haul and energy levels are now non existant.

Not sure what I shall do for tea but I'm on nights again tonight so it will be something quick and easy.

Its the shortest day today......roll on the summer

Re: Sunday daily thread.

Matron, I feel for you love these are worrying and exhausting times with your MIL. You & hubby are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm on nights tonight too, so what am I doing up at this time of the morning?! still lots of Xmas prep to do, will make an early start and then have a rest later.

Pleased with the SCD result Tom's show dance was a real treat.

Feeding an abandoned cat in our close, so must go out and find her. Reported to CP but no room at the inn, of course!
She's a gorgeous tabby, beautiful markings, clean coat and paws. A little injury(?) to left ear otherwise ok. Has been left by a couple who split and left their bungalow empty. Can't believe the inhumaity of some people; yesterday she was crying out really loudly, it was pityful. I wondered if she was calling, as its that time of year. Well, I'll keep you informed as to developments.

Good morning all. Sorry you are still in limbo Matron. But we all know what the resolution of your limbo will be ..... so one almost hesitates to say anything. I'll just be para-philosophical and say This, like all things, will pass. We are all thinking of your situation and feel for your OH. It's no fun, and the time of year seems to make it worse.
It's such a mild day here - can't believe it.I have my visitor till this evening but, fortunately, no blackbirds this morning.
Take care, have a nice day and see you tomorrow

Re: Sunday daily thread.

Well we put the tree up yesterday evening and now that the branches have relaxed after being in that net type shroud thing for a week, we'll get around to decorating it later on today.

Had a very disappointing phone call last night. We'd ordered a beautiful red azalea on-line as a Christmas present for sister-in-law who phoned to say that it had been delivered. Unfortunately it was in an awful condition! Many of the flowers were crushed and battered and loads of them had even fallen off. They tried calling the contact number on the delivery sheet but being Saturday there was no response. We e-mailed the company with our complaint (their web-site promises good quality plants or a refund/replacement) They'll get our complaint tomorrow, wonder if they'll do anything about it?

Prynhawn da pawb!
Been to church this morning for the carol service, now home again and finally getting round to baking my Christmas dog biscuits for the other staff's dogs. All the cat's have got knitted toys!
Hoping to get the rest of my presents wrapped this afternoon as I'm working up until the day itself.
Matron, you and your family are all in my thoughts

Re: Sunday daily thread.

Afternoon everyone! It's another grey overcast day here. Had a beautiful green woodpecker on the lawn this morning, digging for whatever, but sadly no photo - not quick enough. Also small flock of long-tailed tits on the feeders. I love these pretty little birds, wonder if I'll ever get a photo of them, they are so quick!

I am thinking about you and your family Matron.

Hope you get some good customer service from the azalea firm Mrs H - it would be nice to think that they will do something about it. Such a disappointment.

Good luck with caring for the abandoned cat, PP - it's such a heart-wrenching sound, a cat crying, I always think. Give her a little cuddle from me, if you get that close.

I am intrigued about your dog biscuits PL - not that I have a dog, but how do you do it?

Have a good day everyone. Keep calm - this time next week it'll all be well over, with the Solstice we've turned the corner and summer's on the way!

Re: Sunday daily thread.

Angie, the biscuit ,mixture is just flour and a little bit of yeast, made into a dough by adding milk. I've put in a bit of Omega-3 oil and some cheese to make them tasty and I've got some doggie chocolate which I'm going to melt onto the top
