Re: Soggy Tuesday

Nat - the DJ last week was wonderful, such a lovely guy and you could tell he really wanted to change and he looked so great after the 6 weeks! I agree about the Welsh ladies, I don't understand how 1/2 ping pong can burn enough for a pizza?! This week it's two guys which should be interesting, I've never seen two men on it together, there's usually always one girl.

Re: Soggy Tuesday

Not raining now but very grey

I'm not very happy with my haircut my previous girl left so I'm 'training' a new one! Why do they always leave just when you've got used to them?

Still no sign of Chester. Either something terrified him and he is holed up in the house somewhere or he is locked in somewhere outside. Edit: or something horrible has happened but I don't think that ... yet. He's been missing since about 7am, which i would have thought was a bit early for people shutting up and going off to work, but maybe not.

Re: Soggy Tuesday

Rain hasn't reached here yet although it's very overcast and gloomy........ if it does eventually reach us I hope it won't flatten the crocuses that are beginning to appear...

Spending a quiet day today after my pre-birthday celebrations with my family last weekend. Cassie gave me a 'lovely' surprise first thing this morning ........ she promptly brought up all her breakfast over the carpet ....... she's such a glutton at times!

DM ~ I hope Chester has returned home by now and your drip is under control...

Mrs H ~ Hope your knee pain eases soon...

Thought for the Day ........... British Summer Time begins in 3 weeks 5 days!

Re: Soggy Tuesday

Sorry to hear about the haircut DM, I can wholly sympathise. I have very curly hair and it took me 5 years in Glasgow to find a good hairdresser, I don't know what I'll do if she ever goes! Follow her?! I'm sure it does look lovely, just strange to you if you're not used to it.

Mrs H, I do hope the knee pain eases off, sounds very unpleasant

Re: Soggy Tuesday

Late afternoon and absolutely chucking it down here
Will join you in the vino and Mistresses tonight Nat, I feel like veggin in front of the telly but I got to get my ironing cleared first.

Hope Chester is home and dry now; Yola, mind those posh shoes; got to sympathise with you mrs H, RA is a devil and the pain is awful with cold rainy weather.

Keep warm and dry and safe folks, I'm off to eat some thing comforting; 'carb face' here I come

love it!

I'll join you on that considering the huge bowl of pasta I had for my lunch!

It's from the show Supersize vs Superskinny. The presenter was over in LA, land of the super crazy fit and skinny, asking a fitness instructor about how to get LA fit. The instructor was saying she could tell when people had eaten too many carbs the day before as they had "carb face", but never actually explained what it looked like! It's a great phrase! I must have constant carb face as I live off bread and pasta!

Re: Soggy Tuesday

Greetings from Antarctica! It feels like it here: sunny but BITTERLY cold; made -12 overnight, is only up to -9 now and w/c makes it feel like -16!!! I really needed some things at the market salad greens and fresh fruit, bu not going out in this weather. Bringing in the papers was enough. Hopefully a warming trend starts tomorrow....

Hope Chester reappears unharmed, DM. Tell me about leaks, I got a horrific water bill after mine! Sorry it's so wet ad soggy there. MrsH, hope the RA eases a bit soon. Poor Cassie, Mags, and on the carpet too!

Heres to warmer and dryer weather!

Re: Soggy Tuesday

We've got a banshee in our letterbox - the wind is howling! Thought we'd got rid of it by putting that sticky insulation stuff all around the door frame, but I suppose there must still be a gap somewhere. I say "letterbox" but there isn't one - although there was before we had the door replaced and the phrase has stuck. No, I'm not going mad, I know what I mean.

I have made banana tea bread today and had a slice with my tea - it was lovely. Must be good for you too British Heart Foundation recipe.

Merlin is basking in front of the log fire - he really isn't eating very much and I am worried about him again. But he has been out for a toddle down to the stream (ditch) to see if he could find anything to bring me today, but there was nothing there. Bad news about our logs - OH says he's brought the last basket load in this afternoon. He says there are still a couple of logs but they are very soggy and certainly won't dry out with this rain. So, we have either got to order another load of logs or go without the fire until next Autumn. I think you know which option I'd go for!

Sorry to hear about Chester. He'll be home soon I'm sure.

Also sorry to hear about the RA MrsH. This is the worst weather for it.

I recorded Heroes last night, so I'll be watching that. Was mesmerised by the first episode last week, so looking forward to catching up. I think I'm a coward because I only like watching stuff that's impossible and entertaining.

I am so glad that we don't get -19 here Eileen. I wish you lovely warm sunshine to melt all the snow and an end to the wind chill. Glad you have decided not to brave the weather and go out. Keep indoors and as warm as you can. It surely can't be long before we say good riddance to this winter.

Good grief - sorry for the length of this!
