Great news about himself's op - young 'uns bounce back a treat. Give him a week or two and he's start settling down The cakes sound scrummy . . . I may have to raid the cupboard for the remaining mince pies here (shhhh - don't tell anyone ) |

Bless Pip, he sounds fine! And that tea description is making me hungry! Were there little watercress and cream cheese sandwiches, and cucumber? |

No Eileen - although that would go very well for a Summer tea. There were smoked salmon, turkey and cranberry and egg. I was very impressed that my friend who eats gluten free was also catered for separately. The atmosphere was lovely and the service excellent. MrsH - you could visit there on one of your trips to Wittering and Yola on a Hayling Island journey. |

I suppose it's sort of silly bring just myself, but I do very rarely fix little proper tea sandwiches, the cream/watercress and cucumber ones, and have them outside in a sort of mini-picnic in the back yard...... must be the English side of me! |

Indeed! Years ago I bought a little gadget where you can insert a normal slice of bread and slice it in half to make a very thin little slice for tea sandwiches. Sort of a fun thing. |

Angie, you'll have to let me have the details of the place you went to - sounds just the ticket for taking MIL out for a bite to eat when we're down on Hayling Island. |
