Re: Midnight games

Tolly is very brave to chase a Fox. One of my boys is quite terratorial and we sometimes have problems with an uneutered Tom roaming. Tom knows when he is around and sleeps underneath the cat flap. Occassionaly he's come into the house in the middle of the night. The place is in an uproar and yes we go out in out PJ's to give Tom some back up.

Re: Midnight games

I'm not that familiar with cat flaps, isn't it possible to have them so that only the cat with the proper microchip can come and go??

Re: Midnight games

Yes Eileen - however they are very expensive and not completely foolproof either! I have one and on occasion, an unauthorised cat has "followed" either Kizzy or Pip through at speed. However IMO they are worth the extra money generally. I doubt if they are strong enough to be able to stand up to a sustained attack.

Re: Midnight games

Is Tolly a big cat, CS? Leia (14 pounds) once forced the porch door open which I had just pulled shut, not locked, in pursuit of Onyx. I never dreamed she could do that.

Re: Midnight games

Tolly is what the vet describes as 'rangy'- not a big solid tom cat but more a lanky teenager. The cat flap locks by plastic 'lugs' and he knocked the door so it slipped over the lugs- luckily the door must have given slightly so it didn't break.
Thankfully last night was much calmer!
