Re: I need some help with ideas - Silver Wedding!

OK - am I being daft? I like these but would welcome opinions! I'm thinking about the silver antique goblets -

Also wondered about a personalised bottle of Scotch (OH likes his scotch1)

Re: I need some help with ideas - Silver Wedding!

Love some of the ideas above.

Friend arranged to have the house to themselves and booked someone to cook a dinner for them both. They brought everything and took it all away at an agreed time - Silver Service of course!

They exchanged gifts during this special meal.

What about a golf lesson with some famous player - sure you must be able to do that somewhere.

Share certificate in Harley Davidson/Tiffany etc.

Return trip to where you met/first kiss/engaged/first something - and nice meal at that place (if poss!)

World Cruise

Something nice in Silver - lovely wine goblets at iona abbey that we bought.

I do agree - men are hard to buy for.

oops - just noticed you posted the silver goblet idea above.

they are v nice - and if you both enjoy wine they'd make it even more enjoyable!

How about a golf lesson or similar with a Pro golfer?

Or as he keeps birds...is there a bird type gift he would like....new show box or something (whatever they have) or a particular type of bird/breeder whose birds he admires....you could get him.

Yes, I like those goblets - glad you agree Matt.

Kazz - m'dear - where did you get the idea that my OH likes birds (well, he does - but then don't all men?) Think you must be thinking of someone else's OH!!! The "Budgie Men" down at our local Village Hall always amuse me - great big beardy blokes making chirpy noises to little budgies. It's lovely really. They are so gentle with them.

As to the whisky, I was thinking more of something like this - I'm afraid I don't stretch to a 50 year old malt, and anyhow after you've drunk it ........

This firm comes from Aberdeenshire. Have any of our Scottish members any knowledge of this company?

Sorry, this linking business doesn't always want to work: http://www.brandedbeer.com/products.cfm/gid/167

Re: I need some help with ideas - Silver Wedding!

I have to say that practicality has won the day really DM. I had a chat to OH and we have agreed to buy some nice garden furniture. I may still go ahead and get him a personalised bottle of something. He did suggest that I would like an eternity ring. But it would cost a fortune for one that I liked and it's only jewellery after all - nice but you can't sit on it in the sunshine and read a book, which I do rather think I prefer in the long run. Not very romantic, but guess it's a bit of an attack of the lady in the slippers!

Slippers are good and comfy!
Your house sounds a lot like ours ... we were going to get ourselves a Wii fit for xmas but that changed to the garden table & chairs! Some other time, I guess .....
