Don't scratch the spots Luke, if you break them they will leave scars. Ask your mum to get some calamine lotion and dab that on them....it will help with the itching. Hope you feel better soon..

It certainly sounds like chicken pox Luke. When my daughter (now 15) was a baby she had chicken pox and gave it to me. I felt really poorly, flu like symptoms, similar to what you describe. Nothing much you can do, except calamine for the spots an paracetamol for how you are feeling. Like the others have said, if the doc really thought you had meningitis you would be in hospital by now and really very ill. Hope you get better soon.

Oh dear!! My little Dominik had it all over last Christmas which kind of wiped our Christmas out for us

At least yours will be over and done with by the time the festivities come round.

thanks everyone, the spots have spread and are redder and more itchy so dont think it is a reaction which is why i was to leave it over this weekend and take pyriton (sp) so will be back at docs on Monday morning more than likely
Oh and het, im warning you missy csp me again and i the gloves will come off even more on DW
