Looks a lot like chicken pox Luke....I find it astonishing that your doctor said it could be meningitis among other things and left it at that. If he was at all suspicious of that he should have had you in the hospital straight away for tests as that is very dangerous |

I think if the doc was seriously worried about meningitis Luke you would be in hospital by now. I had Meningitis a few years ago and I certainly couldn't use a pc I was far too ill and admitted to hospital. Do as the doc says and see how you go Luke. Any deterioration in your condition and get the doc straight back. Hope you are feeling better soon... The rash associated with meningitis is caused by toxins from the infection poising the blood ie septicaemia...you would be very very ill, probably unconscious if you had a septicaemic rash related to meningitis Luke |

Hmmm. If the doc even remotely SUSPECTED meningitis he should have referred you immediately to hospital. I had identical symptoms to meningitis 10 years ago and got the full emergency services thingy + spinal tap (turned out to be something equally nasty . . . ). But it does look like chicken pox . . .they start off small and get bigger . . . but of course shingles is related to that and looks similar too. Whatever it is - I hope it's not serious and that it passes quickly. {{hugs}} |
