You see, that's what lots of people think about Persians . . . cute, fluffy but a bit odd, ugly and un-cat-like!

I guess that maybe some of us are drawn to the slightly left-of-centre cats that are out there. I know I am

It would never do if we all liked the same things - variety is most definitely the spice!!!

Isn't it fortunate that there are enough different looks in cats that everyone can find one that they really love?

Actually they do have some in colonies in the wild still ....

They come in degrees of hairiness/baldness - the best examples being completely naked other than their peach "fuzz" - do not under any circumstances go to a breeder who is crossing them with Devon Rex is what I have been told ..... and if you want the name of one breeder to avoid who is breeding unregistered kits from cats on the non active register please PM me.

They are fabulously affectionate and extremely intelligent cats. I would contact the Rex BAC for reputable breeders and also talk to breeders at shows - there tends to be a lot at the Rex breed shows - one this weekend in Rugby

That's really interesting Soupie, as I would have agreed with Eileen about them not being able to survive in the wild. Do you have any further info/link etc. I'd be interested. Thanks.

I agree Yola, like cats, we are all indivuduals and have different likes & dislikes, wouldn't do for us all to be the same!

My tastse in cats have changed, I used not to like Siamese, but now I love them! I 'nearly' bought a Persian when we were deciding on a breed of cat to get, in fact I went and visited a breeder, but decided they weren't for me. Yours are truly gorgeous though Yola.

Gosh - I'm surprised that there is one in rescue. As they are such a "new" breed, I would have thought that all the breeders would have restrictions in their contracts etc........so that if for any reason the new owner can't keep the cat, it would go back to the breeder.

Has your friend tried to find the breeder?

There are already back yard breeders breeding sphynx and breeding sphynx against the BAC breeding policy by using outcrosses no longer recognised ......
