Introducing Z, the new 'practice' dog!

Can't believe such a handsome dog was given up on so easily... for shame on the owners and thank goodness for the vet and the practice! Z is going to have a good life now and I bet it won't be too long before he gets a forever home too

Update- Z is doing really well on his new weight-loss regime, he has lost 1.5kg already! He's so full of life now and lives for cuddles and chasing his ball!

Thank heaven he came to your practice and not one where maybe the time wasn't there to carefully analyse his needs.

Bless you all for taking him on, it sounds like he's making great progress already and the pox on the people who wanted to end his life just for their own convenience

i agree i hate people like that. ?It was a very hard choice for us with simon but to put a dog to sleep just beacuse its arthritic and smells of wee is unbeliveable. Well done too all at your pratice for helping him.
PS i love labs i walk a yr old chocolate lab ever day and she is ace

He's doing very well on his diet and increased exercise-as well as being on a drug to aid weightloss and has lost nearly 2kg so far!

Ideally he needs to lose about another 10kg Angie, obviously we'll tailor it to his body shape as he starts to get lighter but he's a fairly fine built lab so should be around the 30kg mark. Slow and steady is best though so we're getting there and there's no shortage of people willing to walk and play with him
