Re: Pics from Telford Cat Show

Great pics, Alex, and special thanks for thinking of me and posting the one of the Pura!! Lily and Mildred's sister were especially nice; must confess I really don't care for Sphynxes. And,,,what is the Blue Peter cat? Glad you and your family had such a lovely time...wish I could have been there!

Re: Pics from Telford Cat Show

You would have loved it Eileen, there were quite a few Puras there. The Blue Peter cat is a cat that appears on a kids programme called Blue Peter over here. It has been running for about 30 years I think and is very popular. It has had many resident animals over the years and Socks is one of the latest. Very beautiful cats.

Re: Pics from Telford Cat Show

Thanks! Thought it was probably something like that; no wonder the children liked it! Puras seem to be fairly popular there; surprised there were some at a show smaller than the Supreme! I think they're a great breed, but of couse I'm very prejudiced after being owned by one for 14 years,,, !

The kittens were adorable, very inquisitive little faces!! There is no way I could be a show judge, having to choose winners out of all those lovely cats would be impossible, lol.

Re: Pics from Telford Cat Show

Agree completely with you there; I could never do it either! Do they have a "Household Pet"section in UK shows? Here, you can enter your non-pedigreed cat and there are no strict show standards to be adhered to: cats are judged simply on beauty, health, personality, etc! I could probably do that, lol

Is the household pet for pedigrees only Fran or moggies too?

Re: Pics from Telford Cat Show

There was a household pet section Eileen and the best in show for that was a lovely B&W who looked remarkably like Naomi's Salt!!! They were all lovely cats in that section and the difference with them was that unlike some of the pedigree cats, they were all much loved pets. I know most of the pedigree ones are too, but there are obviously a few who aren't and are just kept as show cats, which is such a shame.
