Re: Yola's Allotment Thread :-)

Really DM? I didn't realise that. You might have a point . . . maybe I ought to stop mollycoddling them with regular waterings now in order for them to toughen up a bit?

Re: Yola's Allotment Thread :-)

Several pictures taken last weekend . . . broad and dwarf beans and onions are now out as they've finished cropping/ripened but there's lots more big stuff happening . . .

Cauliflower coming along nicely

Ditto globe artichoke

Fennel - we had a couple the other night, intensely aniseedy flavour and tender as you like!

Sweetcorn coming along nicely also

Jerusalem Artichokes . . .

Looking across to the only non-raised bed area (will be raised-bedded over winter)

Finally, apples

Looking great!
Did you decide to leave them to it whilstyou're away or will your brother water?

Wow, everything's looking great; a very successful first year at the allotment, I'd say. That cauliflower was making my mouth water: a favorite veggie and never had one straight from the garden!

You and your family have worked so hard Yola - you are entitled to be very proud of yourselves.
