I know how you feel Donna, I was like that with my glasses, but had to wear them a year before I could get contacts, it does become easier, like you I would not wear them out, but when I ended up ordering a nest of tables instead of a cat bed, decided to wear them....you do get used to them... I have contacts now and they are brilliant, was not sure about putting things in my eyes, but I do not even know they are there now, and so easy to put in and take out... |

Aw Donna - chin up chick! Understand what you are saying, and no matter how many times I, or anyone else here, tells you that no-one will notice etc etc, it doesn't matter, cos it's what you feel that counts, and you feel ............ all those things - ugly, unattractive, useless, old, blind, decrepit etc. You're not, at all, you're a hard-working single mum, doing her best for her family. But only you can turn those feelings around - hope you can do it soon. .......... and contact lenses? Absolute lifesavers! Make you put a smile on your face, and you walk 3" taller. Daily disposables come in at about £20 a month, all in - no fluids required etc. Monthly disposables (which you remove every night) are much cheaper (about £10 a month, plus fluids?) Monthly leave in all the time disposables (which you couldn't use straight off anyway) are £22 ish, no fluids. Good luck |

Aww, Donna. Not sure what this is. Do you think it might help? http://www.thinkrightnow.com/audios/audioesteem.htm And repeat after me - "I am an attractive, healthy young woman. I am blessed with two healthy children. I am a valued workmate. I am an attractive, healthy etc etc ...." Maybe the sun will shine tomorrow |

Donna, I;m so sorry you feel this way! I can't really understand why it bothers you so much, as I've worn glasses since I was six, but if it's giving you this much distress maybe you'd better try the contacts, Everyone that has them seems to love them...the mere idea of putting something in my eye repels me, but that's just me. As long as you hate them so, give the contacts a shot..... |

I'm sorry they are getting you down Donna. I think Mags and DM have given some good advice. Are you meant to wear them all the time or only for computer work? I have glasses that I have to wear at work for the PC and bright lights, but I don't have to wear them for anything else, so I keep them in my desk at work, put them on in the morning and leave them here when I go home. Most people I know out of work don't even know I wear glasses. Maybe you could do the same if it suits your situation. Hugs |
