Great stuff Emma!! Doe the SAA offer advice on technique improvement (not that you need it) . . . and other such practical advice? What type of criteria do you need to fulfil to join? Do you have to demonstrate your artistic skill to them? |

Hi Yola, No you just pay a membership fee, they have different memberships depending on what you want to get from the society. They send out a newsletter every two months which has loads of practical advice and yes they let you have details of other members who will give advice, details of meetings and courses, they also have a website with a forum on it, although that could do with a lot of development. You can also buy from their extensive range of art materials, DVDs, books, paper, pencils, paint etc and as a member you get discount and also free postage. I have however found an excellent website called Wetcanvas (www.Wetcanvas.com) there are loads of VERY talented artists on there who give excellent advice, I have learnt so much from being a member on there and I only joined up in August!! |
