Sad question

This is a sad sad question and for those of you with a breakable heart please read no further.

Right those of you who have the guts to stick with it can I ask - what colour should I do my table for Christmas........I did white and silver last year but am considering red and gold this year.
The table sits 8 comfortably when extended (which it will be for Christmas)
White linen table cloth with red runner; red or gold chargers (under the plates) gold candlesticks and or red and gold flower display and of course white china with a gold edge? Or just plain white china.
What do you think?

Karen

Re: Sad question

I prefer white and silver. All though red and gold has more of a warm feeling to it. I am after buying some new Denby which is jet black and grey so what would I use to compliment that ?? My present Denby is white, dark blue rimmed ...

Re: Sad question

White, red and gold sounds nice Kazz.....I love red at Christmas time. As for the china, either would look good...although the gold rimmed would compliment the candlesticks.
Oh yes, one last thing.....I haven't received my invite yet

Re: Sad question

I had White and silver last year Fran.

And Mags yeah I thought red and gold I haven't had red and gold together ever.
I thought because this winter is going to be cold and my Uncle Arnie is coming and he alone most of the year, apart from brief visits.
I would try and make it special - there will be 7 people sitting down to lunch and another 2 dinners been run across the Croft to elderly neighbours who can't(won't) come over. So I want to get this sorted early like this weekend.

So you are most welcome Mags....all welcome open house here

Re: Sad question

Definately red and gold. My MIL does red and gold and it looks lovely until the kids drop gravy and bits of dinner on it

White china with the gold edging sounds prefect.

Kazz I'd come but you might end up with 4 cats and no dogs

Re: Sad question

red and gold is classic - and you can always add natural (ie green) if you get hold of some holly etc.
(bit early isn't it?)

Re: Sad question

I think either would look good! It sounds wonderful!
I personally would goo for plain white, seeing as you have the gold chargers under them. Having said that I do think either would go!
