...............but I'd rather eat venison from animals that have lived naturally and died swiftly, humanely and without fear, than from factory farmed creatures. I was a non meat eater for about 14 years - until 2 years ago - and now I just do occasional organic beef or lamb from known local or Scottish sources. I think I'd avoid the early walks though - we all know what goes on but don't necesarily want to see it........................ |

Where we used to keep our horses, they regularly shot pheasants. The area was over run with them. I don't know what used to spook the horses most, the gun shots or the pheasants jumping out unexpectedly from the hedgerows I don't think I could handle seeing deer shot though |

Years ago that bit o ground was used for shooting, there are only a handful of deer in it...Up here, in the country these people are a law unto themselves...I am sure some of them have youngstes..I was not hanging around to see!!Tara is the same colour as the deer!!! |
