Good winter afternoon

So, here I am. The weather is just cold and boring and it's starting to get dark at 3.40pm. OH has gone to Cornwall and won't be back till the morning
However
the house is warm
the cats and dog are comatose in their beds
I'm listening to the radio
I'm CP-ing
drinking a nice latte from the xmas pressie coffee machine
eating xmas chocs (Green & Black organic, mixed dark, milk, white

So it's not so bad!

However - roll on next month and I can get to work on the allotment

What are your simple winter pleasures?

Good winter afternoon to you. My winter pleasures are taking the dogs out on the bike getting muddy, wet and cold then coming home to a roaring open fire a lovely cup of tea, home made soup and home made chilli bread toasted.... bliss! Did the bike ride with the dogs, we all got muddy wet and cold but no open fire, tea, soup. or toast today. The dogs are huddled up to there heat pad now.

Have to say that the loveliest feeling in the world after being so very cold in winter mucking my horses stable out is to chill out on the settee in a very warm house with a nice glass of red in my hand, chatting on here

My winter pleasure is a nice beef casserole cooking in the oven on a very cold day and the smell of it wafting all through the house.....mmmmmm

Coming in from the cold to a warm house smelling of a hot stew or roast dinner, sitting in front of my fire in the living room, watching a storm at the window, snuggling under my duvet!!!

yup...getting all the animals happy and sitting in front of the open fire with a glass of wine, and now that i have the laptop up and running its even better
