tried to become friends with Harry...

Thought I'd make a big effort this week to become friends with Harry.

I asked Harry if he wants to be my friend & play for a bit?

Guess what his reply was?

He replied... "I'll give you 10 seconds to get out of my way or I'm gonna have to scratch you, now leave me alone you old busy body"

OK I said we'll leave it there for now

Rescue Remedy in his water?
Something herbal from Dorwest Herbs - scullcap & valerian?
Feliway diffuser?
Radio playing quietly with mixture of soft voices and sweet music?
Another cat?

Poor boy

Tried RR & Feliway spray (not diffuser) doesn't make any difference. I don't think he will come round & I doubt if he has been handled much previously.

It sounds like he's pretty feral doesn't it?
Will you neuter and then try to find him a job on a farm/warehouse/etc?

He does. I've had him neutered, think he'll have to go on a farm or to a very understanding home where he can just do his own thing. Some people just want a cat to help with the mice, so maybe that sort of home. I've never had one like this before

Poor lad its a shame you can't show him to people who think a cat is a object rather than a living being. This is what can happen.

He does sound feral though - which is a shame when he isn't in the true sense of the word but is in his mind.

What are the other cats from the household like? Now thats a point does he like other cats would a steady "likeable" cat be good for him show him how nice life can be nothing to be sacred of.

Poor Harry, he must have had a terrible life before. I know you will find him that extra special home or indeed a farm that he obvously needs. Good wishes to you and him.
