Treatment for post-gardening hands

I would thoroughly recommend Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba Oil Hand Recovery. Cleans your hands (even filthy gardeners hands) and makes them nice and soft too, without being greasy. Not cheap at about £12 but a tube lasts a long time.

Thank you for that advice, I may not have gardeners hands but suffer bad when working in term time, with awful rough stained hands from working in a school kitchen. The veggies are horrible to prepare and I even started to wear rubber gloves because I couldnt get the stains off my hands x

i used to get "nurses hands2 from the hibiscrub. used a basic glycerin hand cream, but now i starting my gardening have to look out for this

Haven't seen it in Boots. Our 'up-market' pharmacy/perfumery has it. You know the kind of shop that carries Crabtree & Evelyn........English lavender soaps etc etc.

Crabtree & Evelyn products are also sold through John Lewis as well as their own shops, but I think Debenhams/House of Fraser might also stock them.

I've bought this for my Aunt before but never used it myself. Still swear by Neutrogena. My ex-hubby introduced me to it coz he worked on the Norwegian rigs for a bit and all the burly riggers used it there, it worked for them, and it works a treat for me too

But I wouldn't mind something a bit more feminine and 'scented'. Does this one have a nice pong, DM??

No, fairly neutral actually - maybe a little almondy?
It's a creamy/soapy consistency from the tube, you put it on dry hands work it round and you can feel the 'granules/pumice?' in it, which take off the stains and soften the rough skin, then add a little warm water and work up a nice lather, then rinse and dry.

When I had a coal fire my hands got really dry and sore. I found that snowfire was great. Not got a great smell but worked wonders on hacks.
