Anyone been to Turkey?

Hi,

We have been looking for a cheap last minute holiday, and Turkey is becoming a contender, as we can get all inclusive for not much more than self catering elsewhere.

But I am worried, knowing nothing about the place, is it safe, is it clean, do the toilets work normally etc?

Do I need a visa? What is the currency?

And most importantly, would you recommend it?

Thanks guys

Sorry, can't help as I have never been. Think Mags may be able to offer you some advice? I'm sure there are others too that have been.

Re: Anyone been to Turkey?

We went to Turkey last year and stayed in Icmeler which is not far from Marmaris. It was our first visit to Turkey and I would definately recommend it....the scenery where we stayed was fabulous. Depending what you are looking for accomodation is very reasonable, we stayed half board at the Marti Resort Hotel, a lovely hotel leading on to the beach.
It is very clean, we had no problems with safety, toilets were normal flush, you do not need a visa.....and the currency is the New Turkish Lira.

Here is a link that I used a lot before we went there, you can ask any question you like and it is usually answered......... click here

I'm sure you will enjoy it there.....good luck!

BB: Mars?

I haven't been recently - had no problems way back then. Clean, nice people, enough English-speakers to not be a problem and well worth going.
